About

Jodie

Jodie Hall McAteer showed great promise from a young age and enjoyed a successful pony and junior career, winning numerous national and international titles.

  • All of Jodie’s early childhood memories have ponies in them. Her great grandparents owned a a riding school in the suburbs of London so she started riding from a young age. What started out as just a little girl that was crazy about her ponies, slowly grew into a woman that was determined to compete at the highest level.

  • Jodie had a very successful pony career on the well known pony Tixylix. In 2015, she won team gold and individual silver at the Pony European Championships in Sweden. Her pony career culminated in winning a the three majors of national pony sport at Horse of the Year Show, London Horse Show and Liverpool Horse Show. She then made the transition to horses and over the last few years, Jodie has stepped it up remarkably.

  • In 2019 she made her senior team debut in the 3* Lisbon, Portugal and ended the year as the Under 25s British Champion.

Then in 2021, she made her debut on the Longines Global Champions Tour with team Cascais Charms as their U25 rider. The same year Jodie took home the team bronze medal with Kimosa Van Het Kritrahof at the Young Rider Continental Regional Championships in Vilamoura, Portugal and had a 3rd place podium finish with Salt n’ Peppa at the 5* Grand Prix of Paris amongst many other top placings.

The following year in 2022, she proved to be a key member for the senior British squad putting in a faultless performance on her team debut for Great Britain in Falsterbo, Sweden and was selected as part of the squad for the Nations Cup Finals in Barcelona, Spain. Jodie also remained part of the Longines Global Champions Tour joining Georgina Bloomberg’s New York Empire team as their Under 25 rider enjoying Grand Prix placings in Madrid, London and Rome.

Her 2022 season finished with her being named the Leading Rider of the London International Horse Show in addition to a 3rd place finish in her first Longines FEI World Cup on Salt n’ Peppa.

2023 saw Jodie start the year as Leading Lady Rider in Amsterdam. She continued to take wins in Paris and London, as well as the Grand Prix of Ommen. Most notably though she was crowned Leading Showjumper of the Year with Hardessa at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham.

During the 2024 season Jodie continued to travel worldwide as part of the Global Champions Tour, particularly making the long trip to Shanghai worthwhile taking top honours with Kimosa Van Het Kritrahof. Jodie also played an important role with the British team finishing second in both the Nations Cup of Deauville and the Aga Khan in Dublin.

  • Jodie continues to campaign her horses as she looks to make a mark on the world stage. Based back home in north London full-time, albeit when the competition schedule allows, Jodie is taking a more active role in the family business at Hyde Park Stables with her sister Eleanor. This next step gives Jodie more opportunity to be involved in the training of others. Meanwhile Jodie remains a crucial part of the British team, already producing a faultless debut in the Nations Cup of Lier with Polly Gredley’s horse Kingsborough Kasper. Currently combining both top competition with carefully producing the next generation of stars, it is an extremely exciting time for Jodie with high hopes looking to the future.
